Dear Friends
In April 2000, our organisation completed the installation of the
ex. Paramount 1 Odeon, Birmingham Compton Cinema Organ in The
Penistone Paramount Cinema, which is only a few miles away from
Barnsley and close to the M I motorway. This small but
characteristic cinema now has the only Compton Organ to be located
in a fully operative cinema in the whole of the North of England &
Scotland. Since the opening of the organ, we have had the pleasure
of welcoming many organised visits from countless Groups, Tour
Operators.. Mystery Trips and Electronic & Theatre Organ Society's.
Due to the success or these visits, the Penistone Cinema Organ Trust
would like to extend an invitation to your organisation to visit one
of our 2007 concert presentations and experience this unique magic
for yourselves.
Once again this year, we are able to offer a group booking discount
to any organisation wishing to bring a party of 25, or more to one
of our listed events. A filly pence reduction on each ticket is
offered to groups wishing to arrange a visit to this wonderful
cinema organ venue.
Penistone is a small agricultural market town and is located in the
heart of some of the most breathtaking and picturesque countryside
to be found in Yorkshire and is only a stones throw away from nearby
Holmfirth, which is the setting for the BBC TV series, "The Last of
the Summer Wine". In fact, many of our visiting groups like to
include a visit to this location, or Penistone's Farmer's Market
prior to arrival at The Penistone Paramount. The Penistone Cinema
Organ Trust have rapidly built up an enviable reputation for the
quality of presentation at our Cinema Organ Concerts, not to mention
the hospitality that we pride ourselves in providing. In 2000, we
were awarded the "Best Visitor Attraction of the Year" award by the
areas Tourist Board and have gained unrivalled acclaim as one of the
country's top cinema organ venues.
Demand for tickets has soared over the past number of years and
additional performances have had to he introduced to meet this
demand. Due to the venues sumptuous traditional seating
accommodation. either in the stalls or circle, the Paramount can
only accommodate 350 and therefore ticket allocation must be on a
first come. first served basis.
A unique occasion is guaranteed for your group visit to the
Penistone Paramount. The thrilling sound of the mighty Compton Organ
in the capable hands of some of the country's finest keyboard
exponents, playing the type of popular music everyone likes to hear.
